Poetry Reshaped Their Lives! Testimony

I could be a song ! I am a song ! A rap ! A poem ! I am harmony! By the roar in my melody & the bass in my curves! I am the beat don't need no words ❤-Yours truly

Close friends of mind have shared their poems with me. Often through tough times we write and connect with issues that one another may be going through. By doing so we are lending a helping hand. Most people vent, but we recite. We create videos or send poems  through messages. I've noticed that a few of my closes friends that I've known for years and still keep in contact with have either sent me one of their poems or I've let them read one of mines. The images we create in our poems are the most vivid visuals for us to realize what a friend may need to hear to empower them. Here are a few testimonies of my friends. Come back to visit. New testimonies may continue to be posted. Stay tuned!

1.) As someone who doesn't write poetry. When you read or hear a poem and start to visualize images? How does poetry make you feel? How would you describe that connection?
She responded: “Ummm I guess, this person most of went through something's & I don’t know about connection it depends on the topic.”

After asking her to dig deeper she said: “Ok it makes me feel their pain and I see what they went through.”

Once again I told her that her answer wasn’t deep. I need it to be more meaningful like what does the images do for you?  She responded: “It helps me see their pain like I said every word they speak I visualize what happened, how they felt and why the felt that way.

Randomly she told me: “When I hear poetry I think of it as a symbol of that persons testimony of what they went through and them sharing their pain with others by the rhythm of their words. I don't know if that makes sense, but yeah.”

2.) Can you write something about why you started writing poetry and the images you create? She wrote: I started writing because it was a way to express my outlook on life, to release my feeling out artistically, a way to turn all the ugly in my life into beauty. It's like I bury my thoughts into the soil of paper and it blossoms into poetry.

3.) Write me just a couple of sentences or so about why you started writing poetry. How do you create "images" specifically when your writing ? & if so can u quote one of your fav images from a poem you've written ? Her response blew me away: The start of my writing began 9 years ago. As a kid, I needed an outlet to express my feelings and the trials that came along with it. Poetry was a second language to me. Only some people would understand and very few can relate. In a way, it was my cry for help. The manipulation and word play of different words and metaphors helped me share my story. I was illustrating a picture of my trauma and pain. In the end, I found redemption in my writing and a sense of relation to other poets and authors as well. Imagery is the key to connecting with the people.   "She falls and crumbles as if she were the twin towers herself. And to my amazment, her ashes rise and here stands this woman with eyes of salavation. She cries tears of joy as she celebrates the liberation of her past. Her scars read.. 'SAVED' "
