1. “We drink and smoke marijuana, want us to change
our ways? Uh-huh You see this game we play come from uncles that raised me in
Compton Ask me what I have accomplished I don't know I don't have conscience I
just load up and start dumpin' on enemies; I'm head hunting No sympathy, ain't
no love when you in these streets just get something Protect ya neck cuz they
comin' for sets, respect, split your onion Then chop your deck your head
tumblin' like gymnastics Cause ignorance is bliss Now everybody put your hands
up high. If you don’t give a f*, put your hands up high.” The lyrics from
rapper Kendrick Lamar song “Ignorance is Bliss.” This connects to the idea of
why people may be ignorant of the issues Ensler brings up in the clips because
everyone is just of for themselves. We often believe that not knowing something
is rather comforting than knowing it because we just want to do right by us and
not face the facts. We want to do what makes us feel good rather than care
about others feelings. People who truly care about social justice are those who
are passionate in humanity. I don’t mean that the person specifically loves
nature and the earth. Don’t think of a hippie. I’m thinking of a role model of
the youth. Think of a teenager who surrounds him or herself with positive
people and strives for good grades. The popular teen one who plays sports and
enjoys spending free time with friends. Friends who have common goals of going
to a four year university right after high-school. I think the positive people
are ones who care about social justice issues. I would like to think that is
takes positivity but, soldiers come off as positive people who want to do right
by protecting and serving but, yet sad to say some of them have been rapist.
So, for people to truly care about social justice it takes positivity of all.
It takes others inspiring and encouraging one another to do good. Not for
example
a soldier encouraging another soldier to act on violence in the good people.

“Ignorance is Bliss” pertains to bigger problems of people covering their ears,
and closing their eyes to the social injustice issues we face today. Ignorant
people are naïve to positive change for humanity. Lamar’s lyrics connect to the
idea of why people may be ignorant of the issues. The issue Ensler speaks of in
her video is the problem of men forcing themselves upon women in the act of
rape. Also, she speaks of how a woman’s vagina represents who she is as a
woman, and how this representation should be used to tell others’ about her
struggle. Ensler brings up in her video clips the fact that everyone is just out
for themselves. Lamar’s lyrics described those who act for the sake of their
own life’s rather than thinking about harm done to anthers. “We drink and smoke
