1945 for the Black Woman

The Black woman is amazing yet, always faces trials and tribulations.  According to Gender in Senegal black women were still fighting for their rights. However, on the plus side along with facing the law of the Family Code in the year of 1973. While Senghor was in presidency the Family code was put into place. Placing an age limit of marriage for women. Women were to be married at the tender age of sixteen versus men being allowed to marry at the age of eight-teen. The plus side of it all was that this would help prevent under age sexual encounters. In 2011 a "Demographic and Health Survey" proved that less than 20 percent of women near the ages of "25-49" vowed to be married around 15 years old. Whereas, almost 80 percent vowed to be married between the ages of "15-19." These findings cause me to wonder just how many women abide by the Family Code seeing that the age 16 was the age for marriage yet, so many women were married by the age of 15.
